As the image to the left shows, repeating yourself is not a bad idea. Especially when it comes to online ecommerce listings.
The image also shows that each time repeated, a little variation can go a long way.
This tip has to do with keywords. Now, I know I haven't spoken in depth about keywords yet, but this tip is an intro into the subject.
Whenever anyone needs anything on the internet they do a search (on Google, GunsAmerica, AuctionArms, CNN, anywhere). Now think for a second, how many times have you done a search and come up empty handed. Have you searched for the 2nd Amendment and not found what you needed? I have. Then you have to go back and think... what did I do wrong.
Well, this is why you should repeat yourself in your listing. But, every time you repeat a word such as Second Amendment, use a different variation.
For instance this is the 3rd time I am mentioning the 2A in this blog, yet each time I have used a different version (for those who weren't paying attention; 2nd Amendment, Second Amendment, 2A). By doing this, I have allowed people searching for any variety of the term to find it, tripling my chance of being seen.
This technique works on ecommerce sites as well. Repeat yourself in an item description using multiple names for the item. If you are selling a 20 gauge shotgun, spell it like that and also 20 ga shotgun and 20ga shot gun. That way all bases are covered in a search.
If an item is typically misspelled, then use the proper spelling in the Title, and then the typo in the body of the classified ad. You may think that you will risk looking dumb, but it could double the amount of you search results (now who looks dumb). For instance, just mentioning the Second Amenment again, with a common typo will help my exposure.
So, just in case I haven't reiterated my point enough; REPEAT YOURSELF! It will help your listings.
