Auctions are NOT the ideal way to sell or buy guns online!
Thats it. I will discuss auctions in future blogs because it is useful to know for other items, but it should be known that auctions are not the way you should buy or sell guns online.
An auction is when a seller places an item up for sale, buyers bid on the item, and then the highest bidder wins and is obligated to pay the price that he/she bid.
Sounds simple enough. Place and item, get paid by a winner. Now, say you have an AR15 up for sale on an auction. A legal gun for you to own, therefore a legal gun for you to sell. Now, you place it up for bid, get a winner, contact that winner and find out... they are from Massachusetts and cannot legally own that firearm. You are now stuck with the gun and have to pay more fees to place the item up for bid again.
When there are legal ownership issues, you should not place an item up for auction, classified listings, or even retail is a better way to make the sale. Keep this in mind when placing your next sale.
